Psalm 33:13-15, 17-18

From heaven the Lord looks down and sees all mankind; from his dwelling place he watches all who live on earth—he who forms, the hearts of all, who considers everything they do.

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love, to deliver them from death and keep them alive in famine.

The Psalter writing this Psalm was keenly aware of God’s presence in the lives of His people. David’s Psalm 11:4, “The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord is on his heavenly throne. He observes everyone on earth, his eyes examine them.” God breathed everything into existence with His words. His plans will never be thwarted because He sees everything. 1 Peter 3:12a, “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous.” Hope is found in Jesus Christ. Every last detail of God’s eternal purpose will come to pass.

There are times when things around me go awry. It is in those moments I pause and choose to turn to Him. The creator of the universe is in control and will always be with me. My go to Scripture along with Psalm 11:4 is Habakkuk 2:20, “The Lord is in his holy temple; let all the earth be silent before him.” Being silent before God allows Him to work in my life. Evidence of His eternal purpose is seen everywhere.

How does being silent help spiritually?

Seeking Him daily,

S
