Jude 1:24-25 NIV 2011
To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages now and forevermore! Amen.
Jude wrote his letter to warn the believers regarding wrong teaching. Some teachers were saying though they’d been saved by grace they were at liberty to continue to live their lives of sinfulness. After twenty-three verses, he offered them a sweet refreshing blessing. Fully focused on Him, they would not stumble.
He refocused their vision of God’s character using the words glory, majesty, power and authority. Believers who entered into His presence would remember who God is and what He gave them. God would remain with them as they remained in Him. The Lord is fully able to keep those who put their trust in Him.
Almost seven weeks ago as I sat awaiting my arthroscopic surgery, I had no fear or anxiety. Knowing the God of glory, majesty, power and authority I knew He was present, aware of all that was happening. A phone call from our daughter last week sent me to Him in prayer and her phone call later affirmed His presence once again. I have a different perspective than the world because I trust Him daily. He is fully able to keep my family and me.
How is God keeping you today?
