Isaiah 14:26-27 NIV 2011
This is the plan determined for the whole world; this is the hand stretched out over all nations. For the Lord Almighty has purposed, and who can thwart him? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?
Jerusalem and Judah watched the Northern Kingdom be decimated. God judged them unworthy of the land He’d promised. Isaiah 9:12, “Arameans from the east and the Philistines from the west have devoured Israel with open mouth, Yet for all this, his anger is not turned away, and his hand is still upraised.” That same judgment was coming to them. God’s hand delivered His people from Egypt as they walked through the Red Sea. Exodus 15:12, “You stretch out your right hand, and the earth swallows our enemies.” God had a plan. All the forces of darkness will never stop what God has ordained.
God had a plan for my life before I was born. Sometimes I wonder what He was thinking. But then I realize I am the reason the wheels come off my bus. The older I get, the more I see that no matter how much planning I do, without the Lord directing my plan, it’s not a sure thing it will ever work. I don’t have a prophet like Isaiah. But I do have Pastor Dave’s words from Sunday, April 11, “Jesus tests our commitment and evaluates hearts.” Nothing will stop what God has ordained.
What’s God’s plan for today?
Daily waiting on Him together,
