Psalm 91:1, Isaiah 51:16 NIV 2011
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the almighty.
“I have put my words in your mouth
and covered you with the shadow of my hand—
I who set the heavens in place,
who laid the foundations of the earth,
and who says to Zion, ‘You are my people.’”
God placed Moses in a safe place and continued to do the same for His people in the Promised Land. Exodus 33:22, “When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed.” God’s people rest in Him because He created them. God’s words are words of instruction, Isaiah 49:2a, “He made my mouth like a sharpened sword.” Isaiah 51:13, “that you forget the Lord your Maker, who stretches out the heavens and lays the foundations of the earth.” We are His people. God is creator.
Psalms and Isaiah are rich with encouraging words for God’s people. Pondering the attributes of God, they are woven throughout the Bible. As one of His creations, I was created to have a relationship with Him. My transition to being one of His was without question because of my relationship with my own father. He doesn’t call everyone to greatness but He does call us. Creation reveals His love for us. Daily I’m thankful God is creator.
How do we give thanks for creation?
