Psalm 86:7, Isaiah 30:19 NIV 2011
When I am in distress, I call to you, because you answer me.
People of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious he will be when you cry for help! As soon as he hears, he will answer you.
David knew God intimately, which revealed his heart. Prayer was an integral part of his everyday life. Psalm 27:5, “For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tent and set me high upon a rock.” Isaiah was God’s prophet to Judah and Jerusalem. God knew his heart. Even though God’s message was difficult, Isaiah shared God’s judgment tempered with promised restoration. Isaiah 60:20b, “The Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end.” God hears and answers the prayers of His people.
A text requesting prayer on Wednesday mobilized “Small Group Girls.” Each of us responded with how God was leading us to pray. Just received a text that God heard our prayers and answered them. Requestor appreciated our encouragement and shared thanks for praying. Lifting fellow believers in prayer is awesome because we get to see up close and personal those answers. Knowing God wants a relationship with us makes it easy for me to go to Him daily in prayer. It’s always exciting to see exactly how He answers us.
Who needs our prayers today?
