Psalm 56:11-13 NIV 2011
In God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me? I am under vows to you, O God; I will present my thank offerings to you.
For you have delivered me from death and my feet from stumbling, that I may walk before God in the light of life.
A psalm of David written as he fled from Saul. He looked for protection in the king of Gath in 1 Samuel 21:10-15. But ultimately He looked toward God. He confidently cleaved to God and trusted His perfect will. He knew God was trustworthy in the past. Psalm 7:17, “I will give thanks to the Lord because of his righteousness.” He acknowledged God was his source of strength. As God’s chosen, David was confident in His ability to light his path. God lights the path of all who faithfully trust in Him.
In recent years I have trusted God more frequently than ever before in my life. I recall praying for a new BSF class. We started meeting and trusted God with the details. When we moved to Nevada, I believed God would shine His light on the new place we chose. With each daily I write, I’m faithfully trusting Him that what I write will reveal God’s glory. As He brings new readers to the daily, I trust Him. Because I faithfully trust Him, He lights my way.
How will we trust him today?
Thankful He’s lights our path,
