Psalm 62:10-12 NIV 2011

Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard:

“Power belongs to you, God, and with you, Lord is unfailing love”; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.”

This Psalm reveals an author that was committed to God during assaults from others. It’s a warning to those who do not put their trust in God but only in their own abilities. The prophet Amos had a similar revelation. Amos 1:3, “For three sins of Damascus, even for four, I will not relent.” God condemns those who do not choose to trust in Him. He also has power with unfailing love to complete what He promises. God offered salvation and blessings through Jesus Christ. Everyone will face a sovereign and righteous God.

How many days do I wake up thinking, I will spend it focused on Him? Sadly, I must answer, not as many as I would like. When I’m with others that share my faith, it’s easy to talk and share how God is working in my life. Spending time here each day helps me focus on His power and unfailing love as I type. It is with a sense of joy I accomplished His work today. Joyfully I will face a sovereign righteousness God when I die.

How do our actions reflect Him each day?

Fearlessly trusting Him daily,

S
