2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV 2011
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Paul’s second letter to Timothy was written to encourage him to carry on while clinging to and guarding God’s Word. 1 Peter 1:21, “For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” Abraham’s righteousness was credited to him. Romans 4:3, “What does Scripture say? ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.’” Belief statement from my church, “We believe that the sixty-six books of the Bible are God-breathed, without error and authoritative.” God calls and provides servants all that is needed to serve. God’s Word trains and equips believers with all that’s necessary to share the Good News.
Those who live in the US have the ability to study God’s Word alone or in groups. My small group has completed five weeks walking through the book of Ruth. A young widow from Moab chose to follow her mother-in-law returning to her home in Bethlehem. Ruth followed Naomi and her God. God used two imperfect women to accomplish His perfect plan, just as He does today. Our world is filled with imperfect people, like me. Studying His Word daily, He equips me to share God’s Truth.
Who needs to hear the Good News?
