Genesis 41:15-16 NIV 2011
Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I had a dream, and no one can interpret it. But I have heard it said of you that when you hear a dream you can interpret it.”
“I cannot do it,” Joseph replied to Pharaoh, “but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires.”
Joseph’s brothers sold him to passing Midianties. He eventually ended up in Pharaoh’s prison. Pharaoh’s chief cupbearer remembered Joseph had interpreted his dream and could interpret Pharaoh’s as well. Genesis 40:12, “‘This is what it means,’ Joseph said to him, ‘the three branches are days.’” Joseph knew he was incapable of interpreting any of Pharaoh’s dreams without the help of God. Genesis 40:8, “Do not interpretations belong to God?” He confessed his inability and confidently proclaimed God would be the one giving the answer. What man can’t do God can and will do.
After “toing and froing” all day, I realized I’d done no writing. It was 7pm. What Scripture to use? Where are we going with that Scripture? What is the main truth? Each of these questions followed me as I sat down. But God had a plan and here I am a few hours later being transparent. The mug on my desk prompted with these words from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Like Joseph I know what I can’t do God can and will do.
What’s God doing for you?
Confident daily He can and will do,
