Isaiah 32:16-18 NIV 2011
The Lord’s justice will dwell in the desert his righteousness live in the fertile field. The fruit of that righteousness will be peace; its effect will be quietness and confidence forever. My people will live in peaceful dwelling places, in secure homes, in undisturbed places of rest.
Isaiah wrote words in this chapter regarding God’s kingdom of righteousness. Isaiah 28:6, “He will be a spirit of justice to one who sits in judgment, a source of strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.” God’s justice is the source of strength for His people. Psalm 48:1, “Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise in the city of our God, his holy mountain.” Righteousness comes by walking faithfully with the Lord. By resting in His righteousness, peace infuses every aspect of living with His peace that passes understanding. The Lord is our only source of peace.
Over the years I’ve found people that aren’t reliable. It seems there comes a time when being a friend becomes too much. Maybe it’s the light that I shine or something else but it always amazes me when it occurs. I love the family/friends that you go for few years without seeing and then as you sit sharing a meal with them, it’s as if no time has passed. Daily placing my faith in Him as my only reliable alliance gives me peace.
How will we completely rely on God today?
