1 John 4:4b-6a NASB

Because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God; he who knows God listens to us.

The apostle John’s letter gave warning to the faithful regarding those “moved by the spirit.” 1 John 4:1, “Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” Jesus told them not to be like the world. John 17:16, “They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.” Jesus promised them another advocate in John 14:17. 1 John 5:6c, “And it is the Spirit that testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.” The Holy Spirit advocates for all believers in Christ.

Today has been one filled with up close and person times observing God heard my prayers and answered everyone. We met new friends from Ohio after a quite few U-turns before we found our meeting place. Venturing off on an errand for supplemental items for our dinner, He provided abundantly more than needed. A thankful text from a friend after some future plans fell apart. Resting in the Lord is easy but when it involves non-believers I’m on edge. The Holy Spirit guides, guards and directs me daily.

How is His Spirit at work today?

His gracious recipients,
