Isaiah 33:14-15a,16 NIV 2011
The sinners in Zion are terrified; trembling grips the godless: “Who of us can dwell with everlasting burning?”
Those who walk righteously and speak what is right, who reject gain…they are the ones who will dwell on the heights, whose refuge will be the mountain fortress.
The first thirty-five chapters of Isaiah condemn Judah due to sin and idolitry. Isaiah 4:4, “The Lord will wash away the filth of the woman of Zion, he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgment and a spirit of fire.” God justly judges His people because of their sin. Deuteronomy 4:24, “For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.” God walks with those who walk with Him. Psalm 15:5b, “Whoever does these things will never be shaken.” God hears and transforms His distressed people.
The past ten weeks has given me ample time to reflect on what God is doing daily. We’ve become innovative in using our computers and iPhones to close the miles that separate us from our families. From face time Farkle games to Zooming with family, God has provided connections with them all. What could have been a stressfilled time, has actually not been as bad as I thought it would be. God has been present and knows what I need. God heard and transformed this once distressed Gigi.
How has God transformed our quarantine time?
Confident God hears us every day,
