Exodus 13:14, Deuteronomy 31:8a NIV 2011
“In the days to come, when your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ say to him,
‘With a mighty hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.’ ”
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
God rescued the first born male Hebrews in Egypt. God then told Moses to consecrate the first born and to remind His people of it’s meaning. Exodus 12:27, “Then tell them, ‘It is Passover sacrifice to the Lord, who passed over our homes when he struck down Egypt…’” This was to be a constant reminder of God’s presence. After 40 years they were on the precipice of taking back their homeland and God would lead the way. Deuteronomy 31:6, “…for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you or forsake you.” God faithfully remains with His people.
I discovered this posted on a social media sight I follow. “Sometimes our lives have to be completely shaken up, changed, and rearranged to relocate us to the place we are meant to be.” That’s exactly what God did to the Hebrews in Egypt. He used to do that to me frequently. But now it happens infrequently because I spend time in His Word, pray and remember He’s the Master of my life. Embracing His direction, He faithfully remains with me daily.
How have you seen God remain with you this week?
