2 Samuel 22:2-3 NIV 2011
“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior—from violent people you save me.”
God delivered David from all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. David sang a song of praise to the Lord. Knowing the land, David used rocks as a place of refuge while being pursued by his enemies. 1 Samuel 23:25, “Saul and his men began the search, and when David was told about it, he went down to the rock and stayed in the Desert of Maon.” God was his refuge and fortress. Psalm 31:3, “Since you are my rock and my fortress, for the sake of your name lead and guide me.” God is a refuge and rock for His faithful.
Reading God’s Word daily causes me to remember the ways He’s guided and guarded my way. It also me remain humble knowing I’m just one prayer away from loosing sight of Him. He has been my Rock for more years than He was not. He’s always available for me to take refuge in Him especially when reading His Word. Ecclesiastes 1:9, “What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again, there is nothing new under the sun.” God is my rock and refuge.
How does God revive our faith?
