Psalm 56:3, Proverbs 3:5a, Nahum 1:7 NIV 2011
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…
The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him…
After being seized by the Philistines, David declared he trusted God. Psalm 55:23b, “But as for me, I trust in you.” Solomon and other authors wrote words of wisdom being an attribute of God. Wisdom from God offered believers the opportunity to lean on God by trusting Him in all situations. Nahum was sent to predict the Lord’s judgement for their turning away from Him. Jeremiah, a prophet, placed his trust in the Lord. Jeremiah 17:17, “Do not be a terror to me; you are my refuge in the day of disaster.”
The Lord calls His people to trust Him.
Flying standby yesterday was an opportunity to trust the Lord. Our 15 year old grandson was flying home with us. On Monday everything looked great. But yesterday, it was going to be dicey getting out of Seattle. One seat opened up so we sent Will and the dog home. The next flight was at 7:55pm and it didn’t look good but we traversed the airport to the N gates. Chase kept telling me we were going to make it. We got the last two seats and trusted Him.
How will we trust the Lord daily?
Thankful God’s our refuge,
