Revelation 2:10 NIV 2011

“Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death and I will give you life as your victor’s crown.”

John’s revelation came from Jesus Christ. Revelation 1:1, “The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place.” God gave John all he needed to complete His Word. Daniel 2:28, “But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.” The Lord did not want believers to fear anything when the end was near. All that follow Jesus will experience persecution. 2 Timothy 3:12, “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.”  Faithful followers receive the victor’s crown.

Meeting an Elder attorney this afternoon was a judicious move. It was not the first choice for our day. When asked about decisions regarding end of life, I was unsure of one answer. I know God has a plan for me today as well as the number of days that remain. My sweet husband’s response in the car on the way home was, “If someone can do CPR that will save my life, ‘Yes!’ If machines are keeping me alive, ‘No!’” Whatever the choice the victor’s crown remains mine.

What’s your story of faith?

Sharing the Victor’s crown together,
