Acts 4:24, 6:4 NIV 2011
When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.”
“And will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”
The disciples prayed together after Jesus’ was taken to heaven. Acts 1:14, “They all joined together constantly in prayer.” Believers in Jesus were taught to pray and they prayed after Peter and John were released. Acts 4:31, “After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly.” Those chosen by the disciples were sent to pray and minister to the world. Like the disciples, they too gathered constantly in prayer. God hears the penitent prayers of His people.
I was a young girl when missionaries visited a our church from Africa. I decided then to be a missionary. They were abandoned to Christ. Prayer was a central part of their everyday lives. All positions of leadership within the church or other faith-based organizations ask prayer to be an integral part when serving. Praying for others helps me look beyond myself and look toward the Father. Having an active prayer life keeps me close to the Lord. God hears my prayers when lifted up for those He’s called me to serve.
How do we raise our voices in prayer daily?
