Matthew 2:10-11 NIV 2011

The wise men were sent to find “the one who was born king of the Jews.” They came bearing gifts. One commentator wrote, “The most famous gifts in the Bible are undoubtedly the gifts from the wise men to the baby Jesus.” They arrived well after Jesus’ birth not while in the manger but at “the house.” He was a child. Their tribute was the best they had, a love gift for Jesus. Psalm 72:10, “May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores bring tribute to him.” Followers of Christ are called to offer their love gift to God.
For the past four months, my husband has talked about wanting a dog. My response was, “No!” I finally heard the still small voice of God, “say yes.” It’s the best gift I think I’ve ever given him. I sacrificed the ability to fly off at a moments notice for the joy I see each time they wrestle on the floor together. We rescued fourteen pound Vegas who has now become a designer dog, aka the $$$ we are spending on him. It was a love gift when I said, “Yes.”
How do we show our love gift daily?
