Jeremiah 32:26-27, Luke 18:27 NIV 2011
Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: “I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”
Jesus replied, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
God never changes. Jeremiah was God’s prophet sent to Judah and Jerusalem. He spoke God’s truth during the reigns of five kings. God tasked him to give the news of their impending demise. They did not heed his words. Jeremiah 32:30, “The people of Israel and Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight…” Jesus walked among the Jews but they didn’t really listen to what He said. They asked who could be saved. Jesus replied in Matthew 19:26, “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” All things are possible with God.
Nothing has really changed from the time of Jeremiah or when Jesus walked among the people. We are still focused on whatever is happening at the moment. I love the saying, “You can’t see the forest for the trees.” My maiden name is Smallwood. In junior high some boys called me LittleTimber. I remember my dad saying, “They can’t see the forest for the trees.” He then said they teased me because I was their height. It finally stopped in God’s timing. Daily I find with God all things are possible.
What impossible “things” keep us from turning to God?
