Deuteronomy 6:6-7NIV 2011
These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road when you lie down and when you get up.
God gave Moses the Law. Moses was to teach His people to observe them. Deuteronomy 6:1, “These are the commands, decrees and laws the Lord your God directed me to teach you to observe…” God’s Word needed to be buried in their hearts keeping their path straight and true. Psalm 27:31, “The law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip.” Moses gave God’s commission to the Israelites: share God’s Truth with family and anyone they met on their journey. 2 Corinthians 3:3a, “You show that you are a letter from Christ.” God’s Word calls Christians to communicate God’s Truth.
If I’ve learned nothing else studying the Bible, I know God’s Word is consistent. Jesus’ final words to the disciples, Matthew 28:20, “and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” Before the cross there was the law. After the cross there is salvation through Jesus. As a believer my witness is visible in how I live my life. I need to share how Christ forgives my sins even as a sinner. As a sinner I’m not perfect. God’s Word reveals I’m called to share the Gospel daily!
How will you share the Gospel today?
