John 14:2-3 NIV 2011

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

Jesus had just finished telling the disciples he would only be with them a little longer. He reassured the disciples by telling each one to stand firm. Psalm 56:3, “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Heaven is where He was bound and it is a permanent place where there is room for all who trust in Jesus. He also referred to His return, the second coming. John’s book, Revelation, reveals Jesus will return. Revelation 22:7a, “Look, I am coming soon!” The redeemed of the Lord will inhabit a new heaven and new earth prepared by God.

Choosing to look at life in light of eternity makes “the things of earth grow strangely dim.” This has helped me during many stress-filled times on any given day. Whenever the seasons change it helps to seek out the clothing I actually need and purge those that are not. I know God wants us to daily choose Him and boldly approach those who need to know Jesus. I want others redeemed so they will inhabit God’s home with us.

Who needs to hear Jesus saves?

Our home awaits,
