Psalm 1:1-2 NIV 2011
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord and meditates on his law day and night.
The first two verses of the book of Psalms set the stage for the two ways God’s people may choose to live. One is the way of the sinners and the other is the way of the righteous. Psalm 34:19, “The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all.” He reiterated the two paths again. Psalm 1:6, “For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.” Seeking God daily is the key. Those who choose to walk with the Lord will be blessed.
It would be difficult for me to name every blessing I’ve received since I chose to walk with the Lord. Needless to say, there are a few that stand out. Growing up in a Christian home with parents that loved each of us unconditionally was one. Marrying the man who has been my partner for 48 plus years is another. Two beautiful married daughters with grandchildren as well as family and friends that have been there throughout is another beautiful blessing! Choosing to follow Jesus I’ve been blessed beyond all measure.
How have you seen blessings today?
Jesus’ blessed servants,
