Psalm 18:30-32 NIV 2011
As for God, his way is perfect: the Lord’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God? It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.
This is a Psalm of David also found within 2 Samuel 22. David celebrated God’s answer to prayer even when threatened by powerful enemies. Because God is perfect He never fails and neither will David when he depends on the Lord. God told Nathan all He would do for His people Israel in 2 Samuel 7:8-16. David remembered God is perfect and continually shielded David during battle. God’s Truth is what David clung to throughout his life, even when he sinned. God is perfect and He secures and strengthens His own.
I spent time in the clouds today as I began my trip anticipating days spent with my sister-in-Christ on another adventure. I’ve continued learning to lean on the Master. That’s a process for me as one who likes to be in control and always ready. Like David, there are times when it’s easy to rest in Him. But at other times my focus may wander and just like David it doesn’t end well. Writing helps me focus on Him. Beginning here with Him daily, I recognize He is perfect. God secures and strengthens me.
How will we share His security and strength today?
Strengthened and Secure,
