Psalm 40:11, 1 Peter 1:22 NIV 2011
Do not withhold your mercy from me, Lord; may your love and faithfulness always protect me.
Now that you have purified yourselves by obeying the truth so that you have sincere love for each other, love one another deeply, from the heart.
David asked the Lord for deliverance from his present circumstance. Ever aware of God’s unfailing love David once again prayed for His protection. Psalm 26:3, “For I have always been mindful of your unfailing love.” God’s love and faithfulness go hand-in-hand. Proverbs 20:28, “Love and faithfulness keep a king safe.” The author’s of the New Testament pointed toward living purified lives focused on the Lord. James 4:8a, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” God’s people in Rome were commanded to love others with God’s love. Romans 12:9, “Love must be sincere.” God’s Truth protects and purifies believers.
Hebrews 6:18, “it is impossible for God to lie.” God does not lie. Over the past almost five years, daily time spent in God’s Word has enriched my walk with the Lord. Diving deep into Scripture passages drives the passage into my heart making changes in the way I respond and love others. Shooting up quick arrow prayers has become my first line of defense. When awake in the middle of the night, I pray for friends and family I love. His Truth protects and purifies me.
How is God’s Truth protecting and purifying us?
Loved by God,
