Luke 2:13-14 NIV 2011
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
Shepherds were in the fields nearby the place of Jesus’ birth. One angel brought them the Good News that a Savior was born. Luke 2:9, “An angel of the Lord appeared to them.” The additional support brought by the “heavenly host” affirmed the angle’s proclamation. Isaiah 52:7, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news.” The shepherds found Mary, Joseph and the baby. They left immediately to spread the good news, a Savior was born. Luke 2:20, “The shepherds returned glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen.” God is worthy of praise.
I read a book a few years ago that stated one method of praise is to witness to unbelievers. 1 Peter 2:9, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” This side of the cross we are God’s chosen people. As one of His chosen people, I’m called to share the Good News with others. By shining Jesus’ Light and the Good News daily, I’m shouting God is worthy of praise.
How do others experience our praising God?
Sharing the Good News,
