John 16:33, Matthew 11:28 NIV 2011

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

The Savior is the source of strength and a place of rest. He carefully chose the words peace and rest as hallmarks of lives lived by those that follow Him. He explained the peace He gives in John 14:27. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” God offered rest to Moses. Exodus 33:14, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” The realization of true rest is the result of repentant sinner’s personal relationship with The Redeemer.

If you’ve ever had a moment when you thought the alarm going off in your ear is your husbands, then you may understand my plight. We decided to leave on an early morning flight on Thursday, as the later flights were all full. Setting my alarm for 3:30 am, I proceeded to find a million things to do before I turned-in. Not getting enough rest I was confused but my husband set me straight. Thankfully my True Rest comes daily from The Redeemer.

Who needs to know Jesus’ Rest?

Resting in Him,
