1 Timothy 6:6-8 NIV 2011

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that.

Paul cautioned Timothy regarding the love of the world. Being focused on the Lord they would to be content in any place they were. Philippians 4:11, “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” God trains His people to seek Him. Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Contentment comes from looking up to God not out at the world. Hebrews 13:5, “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have.” Contentment comes to lives lived for the Lord.

Trying to post the daily yesterday was fraught with very little contentment. Somehow my Safari browser was not working when I was ready to publish the “daily.” Praying for God’s guidance I tried everything I knew to no avail. I went to bed focused on Him knowing He would show me a way. Safari is still down but God led me to the information I needed to post using another web browser. He’s shown me resting daily in Him my contentment comes by living for Jesus.

How content are you with your life?

Living lives for Jesus,

S
