Psalm 10:17,  2 Thessalonians 2:16 NIV 2011

You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted, you encourage them and you listen to their cry…

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope.

The Psalter offered a prayer request for deliverance from the wicked. Psalm 10:2, “In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises.” The impassioned plea for protection ended acknowledging God was present with him in his time of need. Paul encouraged the faithful in Thessalonica to remember God chose them to be saved. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Divine encouragement comes through the Word of God.

An email sent yesterday to encourage a fellow believer was appreciated. Not expecting a reply, this morning before dashing out the door, one was there. It blessed and encouraged me to continue to not only encourage those in my inner circle but others as well. That’s what Paul and many that have followed him do. My mother modeled that behavior throughout her life. My new role in BSF is exactly that, to encourage all our Leaders and to come along side our newest ones. God encourages me daily when obediently reading His Word.

What encouraging words will you offer today?

Encouraged by God,
