2 Thessalonians 3:1 NIV 2011
As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.
Paul constantly asked the church to pray. 1 Thessalonians 5:25, “Brothers and sisters, pray for us.” Paul consistently commended the church for their steadfast work standing for Christ. 1 Thessalonians 1:8a, “The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere.” The word of God was a part of their lives. 1 Thessalonians 2:13, “And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us; you accepted it not as a human would, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.” The Lord calls believers to pray.
A sweet sister-in-Christ is flying to Africa today with her daughter spending eleven days on a mission trip. Since she began looking for flights, I’ve been praying for the two of them to first know this is what God has called them to do and then to rest in His care and provisions daily. I sent her a text/prayer and Scripture, Proverbs 19:21 with Numbers 8:24-26, as they awaited departure from JFK. God called them to shine Jesus Christ in Africa. I’ve been called and blessed to pray for them both.
How is He asking you to pray?
