Exodus 3:11-12 NIV 2011
But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
And God said, “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain.”
God called Moses much like he would eventually call David; they were both tending their flock. Moses was called to shepherd and lead God’s people. After speaking, Moses asked God his first question. He was so unsure of his abilities he questioned God four additional times. His last, “Please send someone else.” God had an answer for each question. His first answer was, “I will be with you.” God assured Isaac in Genesis 26:3 by saying “I will be with you.” God promises to empower His people every step of the way.
God’s Word is my favorite book to read daily. When the wheels come off my bus, reading about the lives of men and women God used for His glory never ceases to amaze me. Seeing Him use sinners just like me perpetually encourages me to remain steadfast in my walk. Romans 8:31b, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” God is my strength and my sure foundation. The Maker of the universe promises to be with us every day.
How does God work in our lives?
