Ezra 7:9, Psalm 139:10 NIV 2011
He had begun his journey from Babylon on the first day of the first month, and he arrived in Jerusalem on the first day of the fifth month, for the gracious hand of his God was on him.
Even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
After a journey of four months, Ezra arrived in Jerusalem. He’d traveled with the Israelites from Persia. Ezra 7:6b, “The king granted him everything he asked, for the hand of the Lord his God was on him.” The Lord was with Ezra because of his devotion to Him. David knew God would guide him. Psalm 23:3, “He refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” God saved David. Psalm 108:6, “Save us and help us with your right hand.” God’s hand guides and protects His people.
How many times have I stopped and thought that was the hand of God? The more I look for His hand I see it. Driving home from our usual Thursday night dinner out, my husband brought something up that I’d just thought about earlier in the day. I could only smile and tell him I was on the same page. That is how He works in my life even though I’m undeserving. Just as He was with Ezra and David, He guides and protects me daily.
How is God guiding or protecting you today?
God is with us always,
