Psalm 9:1, 1 Corinthians 15:57, Philippians 1:3 NIV 2011
I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart,
I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
I thank my God every time I remember you.
Both the Psalter and Paul have one thing in common, each knew how to approach God. David knew God chose him to lead His people. He was never ashamed of his relationship with God. David was keenly aware of God’s grace in his life. Though David sinned, he remained steadfast by praising God for His wonderful works. Paul was thankful for every single person that came to know Christ as Lord and Savior. In fact many of his letters opened by giving thanks for their faith. He was thankful for the amazing gift God gave him through Christ. Flawed forgiven sinners approach God as fervent faithful servants.
When my feet hit the floor this morning, I gave thanks for another opportunity to share God’s Truth. It begins with a daily journey through God’s Word to discover the precise Scripture He’s chosen. These three are ones I love and each reveals how to approach the Lord. A thankful heart is the key to begin my conversation with Him. Praise and thanksgiving changes my prayer from focused on me to focusing on Him. I’m a sinner faithfully serving Him.
How should flawed sinners approach the Lord?
Faithfully serving together,
